1. Fold 4 ¼ x 11 Honey CS in half to form 4 ¼ x 5 card base. The fold is on the left side of the card. You can also rotate the card so that the fold is at the top - just rotate the direction of the watermelon when attached.
2. Stamp the square tag from Tender Tags set with Honey ink four times on the 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 White Daisy CS. Stamp the image about 1/8” from edges with the hole toward the center. Rotate stamp and repeat image.
3. Layer the 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 White Daisy CS onto the 3 5/8 x 3/58 Olive CS.
4. Layer the 3 5/8 x 3/58 Olive CS onto the 4 ¼ x 4 ¼ Cranberry CS.
5. Attach the layered CS pieces to the card base with one edge flush with the fold of the card.
6. Lightly drag the Olive stamp pad over the 1 ¼ x 6 White Daisy CS piece and then randomly stamp one of the small flourishes from the Tender Tags set with Olive ink. Rotate the stamp and stamp off the edge of the paper so that the pattern is random. Attach to the card front next to Cranberry panel and trim excess. The reason I cut a longer piece than I needed is because when you start dragging the stamp pad across the cardstock you’ll get a darker line when you start dragging. With a longer piece I was able to trim off the darker edge.
7. Stamp the flesh of the watermelon with Cranberry ink near the top center of the 2 x 3 3/8 White Daisy CS. Stamp the seeds with Black ink. Stamp the patterned watermelon rind with Olive ink. The stamp will only go halfway around so ink again and line up image to stamp the rest of the rind. Then ink the solid rind stamp with Olive ink and stamp onto scrap paper before stamping over the patterned rind (this is called “second generation stamping” and will give you a lighter shade of Olive). As with the patterned rind stamp, ink the solid rind a second time, stamp once onto scrap paper and then stamp over the patterned rind. Cut out the watermelon image and attach it to your card front with foam squares - position it over the center of the Tender Tags images, covering the holes of the tags.
8. Use Liquid Glass over the watermelon seeds to give them a shiny finish. |
